"Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbon" - Ruth Ann Schabacker

The focus of my work is yoga therapy. In yoga therapy the tools and techniques of yoga serve to reconnect each person to themselves, at all levels - from the physical body to the breath, the energy body, mind, and emotions, higher wisdom and spirit.

This approach includes a comprehensive lifestyle program based on the key principles of yoga, and includes:

  • Healthy routines and lifestyle
  • Nutrition for the whole person
  • Exercise and yoga asanas
  • Breathing exercises
  • Yoga hygiene and natural health
  • Meditation
  • Life philosophy

Yoga offers a number of tools that help overcome one of the chief factors undermining the health and well-being in a modern world : an out of balance stress response system, yoga therapy sessions aim to restore balance and provide tools to sustain this.

A private session includes a pre-assessment, an individualized movement, yoga and exercise program, breathing, meditation lifestyle recommendations, homework, and follow-up. The cost of the first session is $90 and follow-up sessions range from $45 to $65.

Testimonials

"After being discouraged by several failed attempts at local gyms I asked Ginny to put together a home exercise program for me. The program, which incorporates Somatics, strengthening and cardio work, is set up so that I do a different set of activities each day of the week. After several months I am still feeling motivated and challenged. Ginny has provided excellent suggestions and follow-up, and I am starting to see some real benefits which include having more energy, strength, and a better sense of my body in space. It has been a very rewarding experience working with her." - Marilyn Tremblay

"I have been doing competitive ballroom dancing for ten years and it can really take a physical toll on one's body. My weekly sessions with Ginny really make a difference out on the dance floor." - Kay LaPointe

"I will be seventy years old this November and I love the movement of Somatics. Ginny Jackson's style of teaching has helped me to awaken my body, and has allowed me to move more naturally and easily. Her teachings and methods have helped me to move freely, and have given me more energy throughout the day. Since she started this wonderful program she has added other forms of movement re-education, which, like Somatics, teaches us to perform more efficiently, really helps to keep everything in balance, and allow me to move fluidly. Ginny has tied this whole package together with a huge bow. It is a wonderful, 'anyone can do it' program." - Sandy Rodgers

"I've had osteopenia for over 15 years. To my surprise and delight, my last bone scan showed I was normal! I actually increased my bone density. I don't take prescription drugs for this, so what have I done differently in the past three years between bone scans? Only three things: vitamin D supplements, a walking routine (3 miles/day), and yoga for alignment. I also added 1/4" to my height, which is clearly due to stronger muscles supporting my spine thanks to yoga." - Sara Backer
